FAQ

Class Five Chaos

Rules Not to Forget!!

1.       Bring cash money for tipping.  And no, tipping is not a city in China.  When you see these rafting guides you will understand better why they need your tips.  They look a lot like the homeless folks along Speer Blvd only they smell slightly worse.  I keed, I keed…  Seriously though, a good amount to tip is $10/person or $100 if they save your life, maybe more depending on whether you received mouth 2 mouth.  Even then it would depend on how good they were…  Again I keed.

2.       NO glass bottles at the campsite!!!

3.       ALL fires must be put out before going to bed.

4.       Everybody must help in cleaning up and keeping the campsite clean.  Even if it is not your mess, clean it up.  If it is your mess, clean it up.  There will likely be over 200 people out there; I don't want to spend half of Sunday cleaning up everything myself.  And yes, it has happened before where 3 or 4 stay behind and clean up because everybody got up early and did not stay to help clean. Please pack your trash out! The trash cans at the campsite are small and can't hold everyone's trash.

5.       Just in case you were not aware, there are animals in the wild.  As it turns out, they kinda like people food better than their nuts and berries and such.  You may also not be aware that people food is not good for animals, and sometimes animals liking people food is not good for people either.  Case in point ‘The Bear'.  Once bear's taste people food, they will do just about anything to get to it.  The end result is usually the bear is put down because that bear becomes a danger to people.  So the point here is clean up your food, once you are done eating, put it back in your car.  DO NOT leave food out on the picnic tables.  This will help prevent any unwanted visitors from the animal kingdom.

6.       Cell phone service is hit or miss at the campsite. Print out the directions, don't expect to call someone and get directed there.

7.       Absolutely NO alcohol is allowed on the boats.  You are NOT floating down the Guadalupe or the Ozarks where you have a cooler tube behind you.  These are class four and five rapids people!!  Pretty intense, gotta pay attention.  Believe me, there will be plenty of time for drinking when we get done.

8.       The parking will be tight at the campsite.  Please park in the designated parking areas and park side by side so as to conserve space.  This will also be set up this way to maximize space for the tents.

9.       This will be a large group and most have not met each other, so please mingle and meet others.  We all know what happens when we get some alcohol in us; so act like adults and we will all get along and have a good time.  I will be in charge, so if you have problems with an individual, please come to me.  There has never been an incident in all the years I have been doing this, but we have come close.  If you like to be offensive and push peoples buttons, leave that behavior at home.  If you can't, then leave yourself at home. I will not hesitate to ask someone to leave.
